PRESIDENT

Kees Wientjens

Kees was born in Holland and developed a keen interest in beautiful horses at an early age. He began to show horses and was particularly interested in young horse classes. This lead to an involvement in breeding and an interest in the most suitable bloodlines.

Kees came to Australia, and set up a flower growing business. He continued to be interested in breeding horses, but it had to fit in around his business committments.

He now concentrates full time - as a producer of top quality performance horses. Kees is a perfectionist and understands that a totally professional approach is necessary, if you want to do anything at the highest level.

Kees is breeding, using the frozen semen of some of the top performance stallions in the world - these include Florencio, Olympic Ferro, Burggraaf, Metall, Voltaire and Heartbreaker. He is delighted with the results to date, and sees Australia becoming a viable supplier to the best stables in the world!

Kees is also a sponsor and supporter of the prestigious Australian Young Dressage Horse Championships, and acknowledges the impact that this event has had by confirming that international success starts with the quality   horses that we breed for our riders to train on!  "Without the horses, we have nothing"

Kees is 100% committed to Australian Performance Horse breeding, and is sure that his knowledge of top bloodlines and the world market, will be a great asset to ISSA members.

Committee members

Terry Cubley originally resided in Ballan, now he and his wife Vicki currently reside in South Australia. Vicki, also a long standing member of our committee, put her lifelong dream of breeding horses into practise, and established one of Victoria's most successful smaller performance horse studs - Torlea Park.

"The stud had a humble beginning, and started when I put a favourite mare to stud. I realised that by selecting a few more mares with her qualities, I could breed several horses each year, and oversee their development and then enjoy them as they went on with their new owners".

It was in 2004 that Terry and Vicki had a work related moved to South Australia. They have established a very small stud and continue their interest in Warmblood horses and ISSA.
